The Heart of Our Work

Family Rescue is dedicated to eliminating domestic violence in the Chicago community by providing comprehensive support services and shelter to victims of domestic violence; particularly to abused women and their children; engaging in advocacy to promote future system change and encouraging prevention through community education.

Family Rescue envisions a world where safety and well-being is a shared responsibility within and among families and communities, achieved only when the most vulnerable among us is safe, and a society free of violence is a reality for all.

Direct services
to victims and their children in residential and non-residential settings and a 24/7 crisis line.

Systemic advocacy
with city departments, governmental and private agencies, businesses and individuals, to help develop policies and procedures that encourage a coordinated, compassionate and effective response to victims of domestic violence
